Here’s what users have said about the Redwood Steakhouse:
Surprised by great food, service, and atmosphere at the California Hotel. Did not expect this, thought it was only a vacation spot for Hawaiians due to affordable packages. The chef’s dishes were one of a kind, with excellent quality meats. The pork chops were especially remarkable, tender and delicious, unlike others I’ve had. My nephew’s scallops were perfectly prepared to his liking, slightly over rare. I highly recommend Redwood Steakhouse for visiting family and friends.
Wonderful place tucked away for big portions and good food for around $100 per person. Main meat courses are a la carte but side dishes are big enough to share. Bread was ok. Onion soup was delicious. Oysters were fresh. Asparagus could have used some seasoning. Ribeye was cooked medium rare to our taste. Prime rib was off menu but a special and definitely worth it! Prime rib is definitely enough for two to share as well.
We came to the Redwood steakhouse specifically for the prime rib, which was excellent as reviewed! The prime rib portion was the largest I’ve ever had, and it was perfectly cooked (medium for us!) Unfortunately, after the Sweet Maui onion soup and the gratis garlic bread, I could barely dent my Prime Rib (though I did manage to eat enough to know it’s amazing!) My wife had the Miso Sea Bass which she also loved! We added the mashed potatoes and finished the meal off with shared Creme Brulee! Overall an excellent meal! The meal was made all the better by the friendly staff, especially Yul who was our server. He gave us a really great snapshot of the history of the California Hotel and Casino and it’s historical ties the the Hawaiian islands!
