Reasons To Avoid Horseshoe Las Vegas

While Horseshoe Las Vegas may be a popular destination for some, there are several reasons why you may want to steer clear of this iconic casino hotel.

  • Crowds: Due to its location, Horseshoe it attracts a large number of tourists and visitors (especially on weekends). This can make navigating the property and accessing amenities more difficult.
  • It’s Loud: If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway, Horseshoe Las Vegas may not fit the bill. The hotel is known for its lively atmosphere and bustling casino floor.
  • Not Family-Friendly: Despite having great family-friendly shows and attractions, the hotel is primarily geared towards adults.

Rooms at Horseshoe Las Vegas

I have been in multiple rooms and suites at Horseshoe Las Vegas (both before and after the recent renovation). The hotel offers an elevated budget-friendly hotel experience.

The benefit of staying at Horseshoe Las Vegas is the convenient location. Your hotel room is steps away from the most popular attractions and things to do in Las Vegas.

The rooms I’ve seen at Horseshoe provided a pleasurable experience overall, but unfortunately the quality of the rooms and suites were fairly average.

Especially in comparison to other Las Vegas hotels that truly pamper their guests – I wish there was something more special about these rooms!

Rooms at Horseshoe Las Vegas

Horseshoe Las Vegas King Room

Horseshoe offers a selection of hotel rooms, including single king rooms and double queen rooms, both with decent mattresses for a comfortable night’s sleep. The rooms are modern and stylishly decorated, with amenities such as cable TV and free WiFi.

During the week, you can book these rooms for under $50/night. However, on the weekends the rooms are a bit overpriced for the quality, with rates over $200/night.

Suites at Horseshoe Las Vegas

Horseshoe offers a large variety of hotel suites and penthouses. I’ve been in a couple of the suites at Horseshoe and they’re very nice. The presidential suite was one of the coolest rooms I’ve seen in Vegas.

During the week you can book a suite for as low as $100/night, which is a tremendous value. On the weekends the rates go up, however, unlike the standard rooms the suites are reasonably priced. You can book a Horseshoe suit on a Saturday night for under $300.

Hotel Amenities

Horseshoe Las Vegas Blu Pool

Horseshoe offers a variety of amenities that can make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable.

The in-room amenities include typical things like a TV with cable, phone, WiFi, toiletries, and a safe. Valet and self-parking are not included.

Beyond your room, you’ll find a variety of nice hotel amenities like the Blu Pool, meeting and conference spaces, wedding services, restaurants, and more.

Restaurants at Horseshoe Las Vegas

Compared to other Las Vegas hotels, Horseshoe’s restaurant selection is lacking. Inside the hotel there are three standout restaurants.

Jack Binion’s Steakhouse is a new steakhouse with an elegant, relaxed vibe. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner or just want to treat yourself to a special meal, Jack Binion’s Steakhouse is sure to please.

Coming in summer of 2023, Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Sports Kitchen will open. This restaurant will serve up classic American fare with a celebrity chef twist.

Horseshoe Las Vegas is also home to M.Y. Asia and has a food court, deli, and cafe. Outside the main entrance, you’ll find more restaurants and bars at the Grand Bazaar Shops.

Shows at Horseshoe Las Vegas

Horseshoe Las Vegas has two shows–Potted Potter and Paranormal Mind Reading. Both shows are family-friendly performances.

Potted Potter is a hilarious parody of the Harry Potter series that condenses all seven books into 70 minutes of non-stop laughs. It’s one of the best comedy shows.

Paranormal Mind Reading offers an evening of mind-bending illusions and psychic feats. The show is led by Frederic Da Silva, a master mentalist who is one of the best magicians in Las Vegas.

Horseshoe Las Vegas has a variety of attractions and things to do. You’ll never run out of entertainment options during your stay.

Casino

One of the main draws of Horseshoe Las Vegas is its casino. The newly remodeled casino floor features a table games pit, a poker room, a keno lounge, and slot machines.

I’ve always enjoyed gambling at Horseshoe (and Bally’s before the remodel). The staff is always friendly, and the comped drinks were always generous.

Bars & Nightlife

Horseshoe Las Vegas doesn’t have a nightclub, but the hotel boasts several bars and lounges for those looking for a night out.

The Cabinet of Curiosities Lounge, The Lock Speakeasy, and the Arcade Bar are all great spots to grab a cocktail. You can also try your luck at video poker at the lobby bar or enjoy some drinks just off the casino floor at The Indigo Lounge and Sully’s Bar.

For more nightlife, head outside the main entrance to the Grand Bazaar Shops.

Nearby Nightlife

Despite not having a nightclub on-site, Horseshoe Las Vegas is close to multiple nightclubs on The Strip, including Omnia at Caesars Palace, Drai’s at The Cromwell, and Chateau Nightclub at Paris Las Vegas.

Grand Bazaar Shops

In addition to its casino, Horseshoe Las Vegas also offers a variety of attractions, including the Grand Bazaar Shops, the future home of Ole Red honky-tonk by Blake Shelton.

If you’re in the mood for shopping, the outdoor plaza is a popular place to visit in Vegas, with a variety of shops, boutiques, and restaurants. I always enjoy stopping by Fuel Bar for 2-for-1 drinks. Fat Tuesday is always popular when it’s hot outside. For food, I recommend going to Giordano’s for delicious pizza.

Attractions

Horseshoe Las Vegas has multiple family-friendly attractions, including the brand new arcade, Twilight Zone Mini Golf, Real Bodies exhibit, and National Geographic’s Rarely Seen Photographs of the Extraordinary exhibit.
